What Happens During a Root Canal?

Dr. Moaz or Dr. Zakhem will begin by providing you with local anesthesia. This will help to numb the area of your mouth that requires treatment so that you feel no discomfort during the procedure. Our team will then make a small opening in the crown of your tooth, opening it up to access the inner chambers and layers. After clearing out all decayed and damaged tissues, including the pulp, which is the innermost layer, we will sanitize the tooth before filling it with a biocompatible material known as gutta-percha. When ready, we will place a custom dental crown over the tooth so that it can heal properly, strengthen, and remain protected against reinfection.
